These general terms apply to all guests visiting Vök Baths (Vök Baths ehf. registered at Urriðavatn, 701 Egilsstaðir, Iceland).


1. BOOKING, CANCELLATION AND GENERAL CONDITIONS.


  • Prices displayed on our website are subject to change. Vök Baths reserves the right to change prices without notice. Prices include VAT and other service fees.
    Purchases made through our website require full payment at the time of purchase with a valid payment card.
  • A booking confirmation with a booking number is sent to your email after completing the payment for a booking. If you do not receive an email with your booking confirmation, we recommend contacting Vök Baths via email at hello@vokbaths.is.
  • The ticket can either be printed or stored on your phone or another device. Vök Baths reserves the right to request valid identification from the ticket holder before entering the baths.
  • The ticket should only be used at the time and date specified on the ticket. It should only be used by the ticket owner and under no circumstances should the ticket be resold or exchanged. Changes and cancellations of bookings must be submitted by email to hello@vokbaths.is. Vök Baths cannot guarantee requests for changes in advance. 
  • Cancellation fees are as follows: 
  • Cancellation made with more than 72 hours' notice: 100% refund. 
  • Cancellation made with 24-72 hours' notice: 50% refund.
  • Cancellation with less than 24 hours' notice: no refund.
  • Vök Baths reserves the right to modify or cancel all bookings in accordance with operational requirements or due to external circumstances that necessitate it. Customers are entitled to a full refund of tickets should such a situation arise.
  • By using our services, you agree that all claims, actions or lawsuits that may arise from these terms and cancellation policies, and/or the services purchased, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Icelandic law. Both parties agree that disputes shall be brought before the courts of Iceland.


2. SAFETY STANDARDS AND LIABILITY.


  • Upon entering our facility, guests assume full responsibility for their own safety and the safety of children in their care.
  • Vök Baths disclaims liability for loss, damage, accidents, illness or changes to schedule caused by weather, strikes or other factors beyond the company's control and for costs arising from any of these reasons. All such losses and expenses are the personal responsibility of the guest.
  • Vök Baths disclaims liability for guests' valuables that may be stolen, lost or damaged during the visit.
  • We recommend that all our guests have valid travel insurance. Your safety is our absolute priority. To ensure your safety and to make your visit as enjoyable as possible, we ask you to pay special attention to the following:
  • If you suffer from any medical conditions, Vök Baths recommends that you obtain medical advice and clearance from your doctor before entering our facility. Please inform staff of any medical conditions that may affect your safety in the pools.
  • If you cannot swim, it is imperative that you inform our staff.
  • Guests must shower without swimwear before entering the pools.
  • Diving and snorkeling are strictly prohibited.
  • Guests enter Lake Urriðavatn entirely at their own risk.
  • It is recommended that guests take regular breaks (5-minute breaks) from the pools and steam bath.
  • Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
  • Please note that floors and walkways may be slippery and/or wet. Exercise caution when walking on wet areas and on stairs. Do not run. Hold onto handrails where available. Please help us keep areas dry where applicable.
  • No glassware is permitted.
  • Smoking and the use of other nicotine products, such as e-cigarettes and nicotine pouches, is strictly prohibited in the pools and on the Vök Baths premises. Such use may result in a fine of up to 250,000 ISK. 
  • Vök Baths is not responsible for guests' valuables. Guests bear full responsibility for their own belongings.
  • For safety reasons, we reserve the right to deny/revoke access to those who arrive intoxicated or wish to enter/remain in the pools while intoxicated. The determination of whether an individual is intoxicated is based solely on the judgment of Vök Baths staff.
  • Please walk on designated walkways only.
  • Always follow instructions from our staff. Inappropriate behavior or rule violations may result in immediate removal from Vök Baths.
  • Phone use is strictly prohibited in the changing rooms
  • There is no minimum age to enter the baths. All children up to 16 years of age must always be accompanied by, and under the supervision of, an adult guardian during their visit. A maximum of two children may be accompanied by one guardian unless they are their parent or legal guardian.
  • Inflatable floaties are recommended for all children. Floaties are not considered life-saving devices and therefore do not replace adult supervision of children.


3. MEMBERSHIP CARDS


  • Membership Cards are issued under the national ID number of the purchaser or the person for whom the purchase is made. Only the person to whom the card belongs may use it.
  • Membership cards are available with a validity period of 1 month, 3 months or 1 year, and the validity period is calculated from the date of purchase.
  • There is no limit to the number of times the card can be used within that time frame.
  • Access for membership card holders is subject to availability at any given time. Generally, card holders cannot reserve a spot by booking in advance. You can send an email to hello@vokbaths.is or call +354 4709500 to check booking availability before arriving.
  • Exceptions to the booking rights of membership card holders may apply for special events, in which case a booking fee may be charged.
  • Vök Baths reserves the right to give priority to other guests if booking status indicates that full capacity will be reached shortly.
  • Membership card holders may request a freeze on their membership card by presenting a valid medical certificate. The card can be frozen for a minimum of 8 weeks and a maximum of 3 months. If the membership card is for 2 persons, the freeze applies to both card holders.
  • Should Vök Baths become aware, for example through random monitoring, that a membership card holder is guilty of providing others with information that enables them to use the membership card, for example through self-service solutions or by other means, Vök Baths reserves the right to revoke the membership card of the individual in question.
