  • Where is Vök Baths located?

    Vök Baths is located 500 meters from Route 1 just northwest of Egilsstaðir and only a 5 minute drive from downtown Egilsstaðir.
  • What is the best way to get to Vök Baths?

    We recommend taxi service by Ásgrímur (+354 898 8044 / travel@daytourtaxi.com) or Jón Eiður (+354 892 9247 / joneidur@gmail.com).
  • Is EV charging available at Vök Baths?

    Yes, we have 8 charging stations. You need to bring your own cable and have the ON app to use them.
  • Do I need to book my ticket in advance?

    Tickets are limited for each entrance time. We highly advise booking online in advance; walk-ins are not accepted from June 1st to August 31st.
  • Do I need to reserve a table at the restaurant?

    Yes, we recommend booking a table through our website.
  • What happens if I can’t make it at the time I have booked?

    You can change the date or timing. Please contact hello@vokbaths.is with your new details and booking number.

    Guests requiring help in changing rooms receive complimentary admission for an assistant. Please email to book in advance.

  • What is the minimum age to go alone?

    Individuals must be at least 16 years old to enter alone. Children under 16 must be accompanied by parents.
  • How long can I stay in the pools?

    You can stay as long as you want within opening hours. Everyone must leave the building by closing time.
  • Are there any chemicals in the water?

    Vök Baths is a clean natural hot spring with no chlorine or chemicals added. Purity is maintained through continuous flow.
  • What is the pool's temperature?

    The temperature ranges from 5°C to 41°C (41°F – 105.8°F). We have a main pool and two floating pools (Vakir).
  • When is the last slot to enter?

    The last entrance is 45 minutes before closing. Guests must leave the pools 15 minutes before closing.
  • What happens if I lose my bracelet?

    Guests are responsible for their bracelets. Lost bracelets incur a replacement fee of ISK 5,000.
  • Is it possible to borrow a wheelchair?

    Yes, and you can use the specialized wheelchair to enter the pools.
  • Do I need to shower before going in?

    Yes, all guests must wash thoroughly with soap and without a swimsuit before entering. Shampoo and gel are provided.
  • Can I bring my own drinks?

    No outside drinks are allowed. We have a wide selection at our pool bar. Water bottles are permitted.
  • Is it safe for pregnant women?

    Pools range from 37-42°C. Expecting mothers should evaluate their own condition and stay hydrated.
  • Are toys for children allowed?

    No toys are allowed. Only inflatable armbands or floaties for infants are permitted.
  • Can I bring a drone?

    Drones are strictly prohibited during opening hours.
  • Can I bring my phone into the pools?

    Phones/cameras are allowed in pools but strictly forbidden in changing rooms. Respect other guests' privacy.

    The pools vary in depth, reaching a maximum of 1.2 meters.
